1. Format: The SAT has moved from paper-based testing to a fully digital platform. This means students will now take the exam on a computer, either at a test center or, in some cases, on their own devices.
2. Adaptive Testing: The new digital SAT will be section-adaptive, meaning that the test will adjust in difficulty based on how students perform in earlier sections. This adaptive nature allows for a more personalized experience and a shorter overall testing time.
3. Test Length: The total duration of the test has been reduced from around 3 hours to 2 hours and 14 minutes. This shorter exam time is designed to help students maintain focus and reduce test-day fatigue.
4. Calculator Usage: One of the most welcomed changes is that a calculator will now be allowed on all math questions, simplifying the test for students and removing some of the mental calculations required in previous versions.
5. Faster Results: With the digital format, students can expect to receive their SAT scores faster, allowing them to make more timely decisions about college applications.
